Abstract of Meeting Minutes

I. CIE Symposium
The CIE symposium on Sustainability Science held on February 28th at Hartwick College was a great success, with a turnout of 150-175 people. Chris, Bethia Waterman, and Dr. Adams will be following up with Robyn O'Malley of the Heinz Institute about the possibility of using a national ecosystem indicator model on a regional scale in the Catskills.

At tonight's ONHS meeting the group looked at two scientific posters that SUNY Ulster biology students had prepared for the symposium, describing their studies of macro-invertebrates in the Esopus and the hemlock woolly adelgid as part of their Catskill region environmental issues distance learning course sponsored by CIE.
II. ONHS Web site
The primary agenda for tonight's meeting was a debut of the new ONHS web site, now available on-line at www.onhs.org. The web site was created by Aaron Bennett, with data provided by Dr. Adams. It is still a work in progress, with a lot of changes and additions yet to be made, however Aaron and Dr. Adams wanted to show people how it looks so far and get some initial review and feedback.

Chris invited people to attend an animal tracking hike at Onteora Lake the next day, led by Zach Baron, a student of famed tracker Tom Brown.
