The map indicates such information as the location of landslides, burned over areas, and virgin forests (first-growth forest).

The forest map is included with the book The Catskill Forest: A History, written by Dr. Micheal Kudish. This 36" x 27" full-color map is printed on coated stock, and shows the Catskills' first, second, and third growth forest; burned areas; agricultural lands; landslides, and reforested areas.

On the reverse is a map in two colors showing present and former forest-product industries: bluestone quarries, tanneries, sawmills, factories, charcoal factories, cooperage mills, pulp/paper mills, and acid wood plants.
